In April, I launched this substack, Ordinary Insights, as a platform for ordinary people who want to transform the world. I begin this journey by sharing the framework for a five-article series titled A Vision for a Better World. So far, I've made a case for the necessity of three delivery systems, church, charity, and coaching, as part of my comprehensive approach to transformation. As we conclude this series, I want to draw your attention to the fourth delivery system: content.
Content, in its many forms, is the cornerstone of communication in the digital age. It is the primary vehicle for spreading transformative ideas. In our interconnected world, it plays a pivotal role in sparking conversations, challenging norms, and inspiring change on a global scale.
Omar Johnson, former chief marketing officer for Beats by Dre, masterfully captures the power of content as a catalyst for change when describing one of the philosophies that led to Beats' meteoric rise: "Content creates conversations and conversations fuel culture."
This philosophy is at the heart of my content strategy. It highlights the transformative power of engaging, thought-provoking content to spark discussions that shape our cultural landscape.
I plan to distribute content using four mediums moving forward. I'll offer a brief overview of each and its role in our broader transformational efforts.
Ordinary Insights (Substack)
In addition to fostering a robust reader community, this platform will serve as my content workbench and the foundation for all other content. Through feedback, you, my subscriber family, play a vital role in helping me refine concepts that will expand into our podcasts, teachings, and social media posts. By establishing a solid foundation here, we can ensure that all subsequent content is cohesive, well-informed, and aligned with our overarching goals.
Work These Words (Podcast)
It's no secret that I'm a Jesus guy. I've been consumed with the details of his life and teachings since 2014. We're planting a church around it and, in the fall, launching a podcast around it. I will use the podcast platform to explore this question: What does it look like to follow and be formed by Jesus' teachings amidst the pressures and pleasures of the modern world? Through engaging interviews, personal stories, and thoughtful discussions, we will delve into the practicalities of living out our faith in contemporary society. We will offer insight into the unique challenges and opportunities we face today and how we can stay true to the core principles of love, compassion, and justice that Jesus embodied.
Sean Dreher Ministries (Teachings)
Sean Dreher Ministries is our teaching platform, which includes sermons that inspire and challenge, masterclasses that delve deeper into theology and practice, and focus groups that foster community and shared learning. With our primary brand archetype being The Sage, we want to offer spiritual guidance and educational resources that support people's faith journeys. Since the people (the proverbial fish of the modern world) swim in the sea of technology, we will house most of this content on my YouTube channel, Sean Dreher TV, which serves as the digital home of Sean Dreher Ministries & Kingdom South.
Social Media
While my other content mediums are weekly or monthly, social media allows me to show up with greater regularity. Through regular posts, videos, and other forms of interactive content, I can provide inspiration, encouragement, and practical wisdom. This constant presence will help keep our community engaged and connected, offering reminders of our mission and values. The immediacy and reach of social media make it an essential tool for maintaining dialogue and assessing the needs of our audience in a fast-paced world.

As we conclude this article and series, it's essential to address an issue that impacts our efforts to spread transformational ideas: the widespread nature of misinformation. In an age where misinformation can spread so rapidly and influence minds, we must commit to a higher standard of integrity as a content brand.
The Apostle Paul, who understood the influence of content (internal or external) on one's life, pens these words in the concluding chapter of Philippians.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
This verse is a guiding principle for our strategy for creating and disseminating content. It reminds us of our responsibility to uphold truth and excellence in everything we share. By focusing on what is true and noble, we can create content that promotes genuine understanding. Since we aim to transform, and misinformation distorts reality, we must work diligently to maintain the trust essential for meaningful transformation. I commit to you as a content creator, but more importantly, as a person of faith, to bring you truth. In addition to bringing truth, I am committed to combating error because, as the old saying goes, “all evil needs to prevail is for good men to do nothing.”
